SGA & AMSA Team of Avalon University School of Medicine
What is SGA and how SGA helps students at Avalon
The Student Government Association (SGA) is a student-run organization that represents the medical student body and provides assistance with school-related matters. The SGA also provides a means of communication between the students and faculty and assists in academic-related initiatives. A few of the other responsibilities governed by the SGA are organizing tutoring for students, Health Fairs, Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) lectures, and volunteer work at the local hospital.
Though the priority at Avalon University is the education, the SGA provides entertaining activities throughout the semester. A few of the events the SGA organizes are culture shows, volleyball and tennis tournaments, talent shows, trips to the beach as well as various fun filled activities and dinners.
The SGA is a product of the hard work and dedication exhibited by the medical students of Avalon University. We appreciate feedback and are constantly looking to improve our school in many ways. Elections for executive positions for SGA are held towards the end of every semester.
