How to Maintain Medical School Scholarship

Paying for a medical school education can be tough. Medical school students will take out government and private loans, chase down grants and scholarships, work while in school (not encouraged), and pay out of pocket to achieve their dreams. When medical schools scholarships are granted, they come with the expectation that the student will do everything they need to maintain that scholarship.

Below are some tips and suggestions on how a student can maintain scholarship:

This tip is CRUCIAL to help avoid any potential confusion or difficulty. Make sure you understand the terms for each specific medical schools scholarships, as some scholarships only cover a certain number of semesters.

Keep Your Grades UP

The majority of scholarships are GPA based. In a majority of cases, if the student’s GPA falls below the required GPA, they run the risk of losing their scholarship. To help our students with this, Avalon offers small class sizes, so our students have one-on-one attention. Avalon also provides peer tutoring opportunities to help our students maintain their GPA.

Stay in Contact with the Bursar’s Office or Financial Department
