Dr. Jabeen Fayyaz, MD leads a CPR Training Session for Avalon’s Future Medical Professionals!
CPR Training Session
A memorable step for physicians is the taking of the Hippocratic Oath to “…respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.” In the spirit of this oath, Dr. Jabeen Fayyaz worked with Avalon University School of Medicine to provide a crucial CPR training session to help Avalon’s students learn this life saving skill.
Dr Jabeen Fayyaz has an impressive academic and professional background. She has been awarded multiple degrees including a MD, FCPSP, MCPS, DCH, and MHPE from various influential institutions. Dr. Fayyaz was an active participant in the development of the Emergency Medicine program in Pakistan and Oman. In 2010, she developed a learning course for the management of acute pediatric emergencies, established as the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. She has been acting as Resuscitation Lead for the Competency Based Medical Education program for Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) faculty in Canada since 2010, another title that is first of its kind. Among all her experience and medical expertise, Dr. Fayyaz’s interests include resuscitation, virtual simulation, acute event debriefing, patent safety, and quality improvement practices.
Dr. Fayyaz is the perfect individual to lead future medical professionals through CPR training. As a master in her field, Avalon students were given the opportunity to learn from the best. Through intentional CPR training, Avalon’s students will be more confident as they complete their basic science course work and move onto clinical rotations.
Avalon University School of Medicine faculty, staff, and students wish to thank Dr. Jabeen Fayyaz for taking the time to officiate a CPR training session and teach this life saving skill. We are honored that Dr. Fayyaz was willing to take the time to “share such knowledge as is (hers) with those who are to follow.”
