Dr. Sateesh Arja Represents Avalon University at IAMSE 2025 Conference in Calgary
Dr. Sateesh Arja, Dean of the School of Medicine at Avalon University, proudly represented Avalon University School of Medicine and the island of Curaçao at the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) Annual Conference, held in Calgary, Canada on June 14-17, 2025.
The IAMSE event brought together over 600 medical educators and professionals representing 31 different countries, creating a vibrant environment for global collaboration in medical education. During the opening ceremony, Dr. Arja had the distinct honor of carrying the flag of Curaçao, symbolizing Avalon’s presence on the international medical stage.
Alongside colleagues Amina and Machelle, Dr. Arja led a well-received workshop titled “Mixed Methods in Health Sciences Educational Research.” The session sparked a dynamic discussion and enthusiastic engagement from participants, which highlights the growing interest in integrated research approaches within health sciences education.
Avalon is proud of Dr. Arja for his impactful representation and contributions to the global academic community.
