What is a prerequisite?
A prerequisite is something that must be in place for something else to happen.
Why are prerequisites important?
Prerequisites are used to determine a prospective student’s eligibility for placement in a program. Medical schools prerequisites are established to make sure future medical students are prepared for the rigorous work expected in medical school.
Avalon University offers two programs, 5-year Pre-Med/MD and 4-year MD.
To be eligible for Avalon University’s 5- year Pre Med/MD program, a prospective student is required to complete the following prerequisite:
– High school/secondary school diploma
To be eligible for Avalon University’s 4-year MD program, a prospective student is required to complete the following prerequisites:
– A minimum of 90 undergraduate credit hours
– Mandatory prerequisite courses, including the premedical coursework, completed
