WILLEMSTAD – AVALON University School of Medicine announced today that the school can now offer a premed education opportunity for students who are interested in Health Science Education. This will be offered at a bachelor’s degree level and will begin in September 2023.
The Bachelor’s degree is a two-year degree and covers a total of six semesters. The school combines online and in-person coursework to create a unique health science education for eligible students. According to the Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Sateesh Arja, the Bachelor of Health Science provides the necessary foundation and knowledge for successful advancement into the MD program.
“Students complete their first three terms online then transition to the campus in Curaçao to complete their final year, three semesters, of study,” said Dr. Arja.
Students will complete their first year of premed education/health science education courses online under supervision from professors with structured class schedules.
This has also its financial advantages. Students remain at home for the duration of their online coursework.
The Chancellor, Dr. Shokat Fatteh indicated that the creation of AVALON’s new bachelor’s degree program has been a labor of love by the university’s Dean and decision-makers. “AVALON looks forward to offering a health science education like no other.”
