Dr. Sireesha Bala A. graduated from Guntur Medical College in the year 2002. She is an ECFMG Certified Physician. She graduated with a Master of Sciences in Public Health. She earned her Ph.D. in Public Health. She graduated with a Master of Sciences in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Michigan State University, USA. She is a Professor of Pharmacology and Dean of Basic Sciences at Avalon University School of Medicine.

Dr.Bala is an active member of AMEE and is certified in all the three Essential Skills of Medical Education courses conducted by AMEE. She received an AMEE Specialist Certificate in Medical Education, U.K.

She is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy, Advance HE, U.K. She is an Associate Fellow of the International Association of Medical Education in Europe (AMEE), U.K. She also received the Fellowship from the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME), U.K. She completed the Fellowship program of the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE), USA.

Dr.Bala is a co-author of around 70 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. About ten abstracts of Dr.Bala were accepted for International Conferences. She was also involved in co-authoring eight textbooks. She is also a Fellow of the Academy of General Education of Manipal Academy. She is an active member and Fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Currently, she is the editor of the Immunotherapy Research Journal and International Journal of Diabetes and Endocrinology. She is also a reviewer for medical education/education journals.

As a Dean of Basic Sciences of Avalon University School of Medicine, she likes to create an environment that will provide clarity, brevity, and responsibility to advancing scientific medical knowledge and healing of others via the art of Medical Education. She likes to continue providing Medical Education to push future graduates to prepare to be tomorrow’s best physicians.
