Our goal is to provide a quality education in a conducive and supportive environment to better prepare you for tomorrow. While Avalon has one of the more affordable tuition rates of all accredited medical schools in the Caribbean, we understand that it can be tough to finance a medical education. Below are various scholarship opportunities that are offered by Avalon which are applicable to newly enrolled students, as well as currently enrolled students.

Grants

Grants are applicable for newly accepted students, and also for currently enrolled Avalon students in the premedical, Basic Science and Clinical Science semesters. The write-up should be between 500-700 words and can be submitted to our bursar.
  • Avalon Grant: Describe something exceptional that you accomplished in your life and how that can be used in your future medical career.
  • Hardship Grant: Explain your current financial hardships and why you are seeking this grant.
  • Above and Beyond Grant : Tell us of a time where you went above and beyond and what you learned from the experience.

The MCAT Scholarship is applicable to newly accepted students entering the first semester of our 4 Year MD Program. The scholarship is contingent upon maintaining a good academic standing throughout the basic sciences as an Avalon student. These scholarships are awarded to a limited number of students per semester.
  • 510+ on MCAT (taken within 3 years) – Eligible for full tuition scholarship during the basic sciences (MD1 – MD5). The total amount awarded per student is $51,975.
