RUN, AVALON, RUN!
Avalon University’s AMSA club, in conjunction with SGA, has organized a Fun Run for Healthy Living to take place on Friday, February 10, 2023. This event, calling out the importance of health and wellness, will begin promptly at 5:00pm. Everyone is encouraged to join! Participants are instructed to meet at Avalon’s main entrance and follow a designated path for the marathon.
“As medical students, we know how important it is to get adequate physical activity everyday…Physical activities help bump up the production of your brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters, called endorphins, and running is one of the easiest ways to achieve this.”
The importance of adequate physical activity cannot be overstated. There are many activities one can attempt each day to promote healthy living. Running for even just 10 minutes has the power to significantly improve your cardiovascular fitness. Regular physical activity can also help improve one’s mental health and quality of life.
To further promote wellness and safe exercise habits, please remember to stretch and warm up before running!
