Med School Application Timeline: What to Expect

A common question we hear from prospective students at Avalon University School of Medicine is, “What should I expect for my med school application timeline?”. This timeline can be much quicker than you would think! At Avalon University, we strive to simplify the application process to better accommodate incoming students. We understand time is valuable and shortening the med school application timeline can lessen the stress experienced by students.

Med School Application Timeline at Avalon University

  1. Submit the application along with supporting documentation
  2. Provide unofficial transcripts of all schools attended & score reports* (if applicable)
  3. File review by the Registrar
  4. Admissions interview with members of the Admissions Committee
  5. Admissions Committee reviews application, transcripts, interview feedback and makes the final admissions decision

*MCAT, NBME: CBSE, NBME: CCSE, USMLE Exams

Our Admissions Specialists work with students throughout the entirety of the application, admissions, and enrollment process. Once we receive the application and all transcripts, the process can move forward very quickly. If students do not have all transcripts but would like to apply to start the process, that is perfectly fine! Students can submit their application and send documents and transcripts to their Admissions Specialist as these items become available. In addition to transcripts, other supporting documents are requested to help us get to know the student.
