I Did It. You Can Too.
– Dr. Cristo Lamprakos, Surgery Resident

My name is Dr. Cristo Lamprakos, and I recently matched into a highly competitive general surgery residency at the Marshall Clinic in Wisconsin. Looking back, I am incredibly happy that I chose Avalon University School of Medicine for my medical school training.
Avalon provided a strong knowledge base in the basic sciences that allowed me to pass all my board exams, paired with intense and highly effective clinical rotations. I completed my clinicals in Beckley, West Virginia, where I worked with 10 different preceptors across colorectal, vascular, and general surgery. Because of these strong clinical experiences, I was able to gain nearly 515 hours of surgical assisting prior to residency and encounter unique pathology that boosted my board performance.
When I faced financial challenges, Avalon supported me by helping me schedule all of my core rotations back-to-back. This allowed me to complete them rapidly, which significantly reduced the amount of time and money I had to spend on rent and living expenses. If you are trying to decide on a medical school, I challenge you to find another institution that offers this quality of education at such a great price.
Thanks to the assistance I received during my applications and the incredible preparation I got from my rotations, I feel exceptionally well-prepared for my future in surgery. I highly recommend Avalon University School of Medicine to all my friends and family
