Our goal is to provide a quality education in a conducive and supportive environment to better prepare you for tomorrow. While Avalon has one of the more affordable tuition rates of all accredited medical schools in the Caribbean, we understand that it can be tough to finance a medical education. Below are various scholarship opportunities that are offered by Avalon which are applicable to newly enrolled students, as well as currently enrolled students.

Grants

Grants are available to newly accepted students as well as currently enrolled Avalon students in the Premedical program, Basic Sciences, and Clinical Sciences. To apply, students must submit a written statement of 500-700 words to the bursar’s office. Please note that students may apply for only one grant at a time.
  • Avalon Grant: Describe something exceptional that you accomplished in your life and how that can be used in your future medical career.
  • Hardship Grant: Explain your current financial hardships and why you are seeking this grant.
  • Above and Beyond Grant : Tell us of a time where you went above and beyond and what you learned from the experience.

Recipients must maintain good academic standing throughout the Basic Science curriculum to remain eligible. This scholarship is awarded to a limited number of students each semester.
  • 510+ on MCAT (taken within 3 years) – $50,000 ($10,000 off of each MD1 – MD5 basic science semester)
