How can I apply to Avalon, and what are the requirements for the application process?
You can apply directly on Avalon’s website by clicking here. The other required documents are official school transcripts (we can use unofficial school transcripts during the application process), two letters of recommendation, personal statement and the $50 application fee.
Do Avalon students receive enough preparation for the USMLEs?
During the 5th semester, Avalon students will take the Becker program, a 12-week board preparatory course to prepare them for the USMLE Step 1 exam. Also, throughout the basic sciences portion, clinical experience and skills are integrated into the curriculum.
Can Avalon students arrange their own clinical rotations?
Avalon requires students to complete 72 weeks of clinical rotations (48 weeks of Core rotations / 24 weeks of elective rotations).
