Explore Your Passion for Health and Wellness with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at Avalon University
Students who are passionate about health and wellness now have the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at Avalon University School of Medicine, beginning in the September 2023 semester. This interdisciplinary program covers a wide range of topics, including Physiology, Epidemiology, and Pathophysiology. Students will learn from our dedicated faculty who possess a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of medicine.The BSHS curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the natural and social sciences, as well as a deep understanding of medical terminology and informatics.
Upon successful completion of the BSHS program, students will have the opportunity to continue into Avalon University’s MD program. By offering BS/MD programs, also referred to as “direct medical programs”, Avalon students will be able to consecutively complete their BS and MD degrees without having to go through the admissions process once more. This continuance of education will provide students with an easy transition from the BS to the MD degree program and allow an accelerated time frame to become a practicing physician.
One of the most significant advantages of the BSHS program at Avalon University is its hybrid learning opportunity. This two-year program allows students to complete their first year (three semesters) online from home. Students will then travel to our campus on the island of Curaçao to complete the second year (three semesters) in person. This accelerated Bachelor’s program will consist of 130 credit hours completed over the course of six semesters.
