Biography:
Dr. Rao, Ph.D (ANU), Ph.D (World university), D.Sc (Hon), M.D,(Hon)(Medicine and Medical Education) (USA) is an eminent academician and researcher, a keen votary of medical education and research and an able administrator and possesses nearly four and half decades of rich and satisfying teaching, research experience in Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Rao, assumed multiple academic and administrative positions like professor of Medical Microbiology, Parasitology, Immunology, and Virology in many universities, many medical colleges in India, China, Nepal, Libya, Philippines and also worked as Head of the Department of Diseases, Immunity, and Therapeutics (DIT), Dean of Student Affairs at Avalon University School of Medicine, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles.
He is one of the very few Medical Microbiologist of India, conferred with MD (Medicine and Medical Education) (USA) degree for his contribution in the field of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, by Avalon University School of Medicine, Ohio,(USA)
Dr Rao honoured with most prestigious Fellow of Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, London, June 2016, Fellow of Royal Society of Biology (London) July 2016 (https://www.rsb.org.uk), Fellow of Institute of Biomedical Sciences (London),Fellow-of-International-Medical-Sciences-Academy 2018,Fellow world academy medical sciences (Netherlands) 2022,and Fellow Indian virology society 2022.
Dr. Rao has been a part of 14 fellowships, received 47 certificates of honours, guided 4 students to Ph.D degrees,(Biotechnology),and attended over 36 International & National Conferences, and published 257 research papers between 2015 – 2023, out of them 174 as main author,168 as corresponding author.Most of his papers published in PubMed and Scopus journals, and got Gold and Silver medals for some of his outstanding papers. Dr Rao authored 12 Medical textbooks,6 book chapters. Prof Rao is editor and chief editor for 72 national and international journals.
