As a medical student, conducting research and publishing your work is encouraged at Avalon University School of Medicine (AUSOM) and has many benefits and advantages that can have positive outcomes for students. AUSOM’s Research Committee believes that research will further develop analytic and critical thinking skills, and just as important, having research experience is increasingly becoming an important factor when it comes to obtaining a post-graduate training position.
AUSOM is proud to share that one of their students, Abida Sayed, and co-authors, have recently been published in a research article titled, “Estimation of Clinical Comorbidities in COVID-19 Patients: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis”. With COVID-19 affecting the lives of many people across the world, conducting research on this topic is important and necessary while we all cope with this pandemic. We are extremely proud of Abida for her contribution to this well-written publication!
