A Scholar with Distinction:
Avalon University’s Dr. Sateesh Arja Completes PhD
At Avalon University School of Medicine, we are continuously proud of the efforts made by our administration and faculty to continue their education. The numerous educational pursuits within the Avalon ranks are exemplified by none other than the Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Sateesh Arja.
We like to refer to Dr. Arja as “one of those incredibly experienced professionals who has a well-deserved alphabet behind their name”. While maintaining a level of professionalism and excellence as Avalon’s Dean, Dr. Arja continuously displays an active commitment to continuing his education and encouraging others to the same level of excellence. Here at Avalon, Dr. Arja sets the bar that our faculty and staff strive to meet alongside him.
Avalon is thrilled to congratulate Dr. Sateesh Arja on his recent accomplishment!
Dr. Arja recently graduated from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Profession Education, an extensive hospital-based research program in the U.S, with his PhD in Health Professions Education (leadership and management track). His dissertation, Impact of Accreditation on Continuous Quality Improvement Process of Undergraduate Medical Education Programs, aims to inform fellow medical educators and academic leaders. This study focused on the scope, range, and activity of evidence regarding the impact of accreditation on the CQI process at undergraduate medical programs and offers suggestions on further research required in the field. As such, this enhances undergraduate medical education accreditation practices’ value to medical students, educators, academic leaders, programs, and the public.
Congratulations, Dr. Arja! We are so proud of you!
