Our faculty and Deans provide academic and career counseling every step of the way.  You will receive advice and guidance that will support you as you navigate through medical school.

We have several forms of mentorship at Avalon.  In peer tutoring, each student is assigned to a faculty member who will counsel them during the basic sciences.  The faculty member will also serve as a career counselor and help guide the students during each semester.  Additionally,  there is a student-to-student mentorship program where students in the “upper-class” will be assigned to the students that are just beginning their education at Avalon.  In the student-to-student mentorship program, students will receive tips, along with advice and guidance, to help them be successful during the basic sciences.

We are partnered with a local practicing physician that serves as the doctor for Avalon students, faculty, and staff.  If there is a circumstance where a student may require medical care, we will coordinate with the doctor and provide transportation to and from the appointments made.

Once a student is accepted into Avalon, we will assist all students in obtaining their travel visa to Curacao.  Once in Curacao, transportation is provided to the immigration office for the new students to complete the necessary procedures in obtaining their resident permits.
