Avalon announced that, beginning in the September 2023 semester, we will begin offering the opportunity for students to complete a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences to be followed by our MD degree. That means that in the span of 6 years, students starting in the bachelor’s degree will have a B.S. in Health Sciences and an MD degree!
Shortly after the initial announcement, Avalon University published the curriculum that will be covered during this program.
Students who begin this program will complete a total of 130 credit hours over the course of two years. The program is divided into 6 semesters. The first three semesters will be completed online from the comfort of the student’s home. The final three semesters will be completed in person on the island of Curacao, under the direct supervision of Avalon’s highly experienced and qualified teaching staff.
If you have been following along for new updates to this program, then you are in the right place!
Avalon University has determined that students will be permitted to transfer into the Bachelor of Health Sciences. Those students who qualify must complete a minimum of three semesters to earn a bachelor’s degree from Avalon. This means that qualifying students could be eligible to transfer directly into the second year (the final three semesters) of the program!
This is a great option for qualifying students as it will allow students to save tuition for up to three semesters (1 year) of the program!
If you think that you may be eligible to transfer into the bachelor’s program, you can reach out to our Admissions Office for more information!
