We Are CAAM-HP & ACCM ACCREDITED!

Avalon University School of Medicine has obtained “full accreditation” status by both CAAM-HP and ACCM, and is the only medical school in the Caribbean to receive the maximum years of accreditation by both CAAM-HP and ACCM. Obtaining accreditation demonstrates Avalon’s commitment to providing the highest levels of education to our students and the same level of quality in our business practices. Achieving accreditation is evidence that we are a part of an elite few and have met the rigorous standards of internationally recognized third parties.

NRMP-ECFMG

The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) assesses the readiness of international medical graduates to enter residency or fellowship programs in the United States. Our students and graduates are eligible to apply to ECFMG for ECFMG Certification and USMLE as a step towards receiving ECFMG certification, which is required for medical practice in the United States.

Starting in 2024, individuals applying for ECFMG Certification must be a student or graduate of a medical school that is appropriately accredited. More specifically, the school must be accredited by an accrediting agency that is officially recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). Avalon is accredited by ACCM and CAAM-HP, which are both fully recognized by WFME and approved by ECFMG as a recognized accreditor. As a result, we satisfy this new standard and our graduates will continue to be eligible for ECFMG certification. medical board of California

Avalon graduates are eligible to apply for residency and medical practice in the state of California. The Medical Board of California states that the medical school must be accredited by one of the approved accrediting bodies on the ECFMG or WFME website, and the accreditation should have standards and requirements that are substantially equivalent to the accrediting body for medical schools in the United States(LCME) and Canada(CACMS). With Avalon having both ACCM and CAAM-HP accreditations, which are both recognized by WFME and acceptable to ECFMG, and both accreditations also have standards comparable to the LCME and CACMS, Avalon graduates are now eligible to practice medicine in the state of California.

Medical Council of Canada (MCC)
