The First International Annual Academic Symposium of Avalon was successfully conducted on Saturday, July 29 at the Hilton Hotel, Curacao by Avalon University School of Medicine. The opening remarks were presented by Avalon’s Executive Dean, Dr. Sateesh Babu Arja. The symposium was chaired by Dr. Nagy Bakir, Dr. Arthur Liquilung, along with Dr. Sateesh Arja. This collaborative effort was put forth by the AASA Organizing Committee, Avalon students, distinguished Faculty as well as local physicians.
The theme of the symposium was the cardiovascular system, with the specific focus on Congestive Heart Failure and associated cardiovascular diseases. A total of six topics were presented by Avalon Faculty and Clinical Preceptors. All the topics reflected the vast knowledge and experiences gained by the presenters regarding the advances in medical care. Additionally, six students presented abstracts reflecting their hard work and immense efforts in the medical field.
A lively question and answer session took place after each presentation. Faculty and students actively discussed and debated the covered topics. All attendees gained up-to-date knowledge and insight into various aspects of Congestive Heart Failure.
The event was a testament to the foresight, capability, and drive of Avalon University School of Medicine to ensure their students remain at the forefront of medicine. Overall, the First International Annual Academic Symposium of Avalon University School of Medicine can only be described as an educational, empowering and an inspiring event.
